60 years and 14 children
The Rev. Frankie and Lucinda Washington is Celebration and Honoring God for 60 Years of Marriage.
When they met in 1948, you could buy a new car for $1,550.00. You could buy a house for $13,500. Bread cost $.14 a loaf, postage was $.03, the average salary was $3,600 per year, minimum wage was $.40 an hour, and the price of gas was $.26 a gallon.
Someone once said that “you can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family.” We are glad that God chose both of you for us.
The two of you have planted seeds of love, forgiveness, giving, helping, strength, integrity, character, and most importantly, the seed to always “put God first.” Thank you for being good ground for us. Congratulation on your 60th Wedding Anniversary! (From the 14 of us)
We are glad to hear from you. Please share with us your “Example” story of a person or persons who have made a difference in your life, or share your thoughts on any of our “Example” stories.
